Polls, Events & Roles

Just tell Tootsies what you want. She’ll set up a real Discord poll, put something on the server calendar, or make and hand out a role, in plain English, no slash commands required.

The one idea: instead of hunting for the right command, just @mention Tootsie's and ask. “Make a poll for who’s recoupling,” “schedule a watch party Friday 8pm,” or “make a loveisland role and give it to me and keisha”, she handles the rest.
YOU @Tootsies make a poll for who’s recoupling, use the cast names TOOTSIES on it, looked up the cast, poll’s live 🗳 YOU @Tootsies schedule a watch party Friday 8pm in the lounge TOOTSIES done, Friday 8pm ET, added to the server calendar 📅

Polls, how it works

native discord polls, sourced and posted for you

Ask for a poll and Tootsies creates a real native Discord poll, the kind with the built-in vote counts and progress bars. She can even look up the options if you ask her to (“use the Casa Amor cast,” “use tonight’s nominees”). She also checks for existing polls across the server first, so she won’t post a duplicate.

She sources the options, checks the server for a duplicate poll, and posts a native Discord poll, complete with live vote bars.

Events, putting things on the calendar

plain english → discord scheduled event

Say “schedule a watch party Friday 8pm” and she creates a Discord scheduled event. She reads your time in ET, the server’s local time, so “8pm” lands at 8pm ET, not midnight UTC. She fills in sensible defaults (“location: TBD”, one hour long) and you can give her as much or as little detail as you like.

📅 FRI Watch Party 🎉 Friday · 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM ET 📍  the lounge 👤  7 interested Scheduled Created by Tootsies
A Discord scheduled event, shows up in the Events tab, sends reminders, lets people mark themselves as interested.

Roles, made on request

plain english → a real discord role

Ask “make a loveisland role and give it to me, keisha, and jay” and she creates the role and hands it out in the same breath, perfect for a watch-along group, a squad, or a one-off event crew. She can also add or remove an existing role from people: “give @dana the vip role”, “take spoilers off me.”

Two guardrails are baked in. She never touches dangerous powers, a role she makes is a harmless label (with an optional @-ping and colour), never admin / ban / kick / manage / moderate. And for a bigger group she’ll propose the members and let a mod confirm rather than deciding on her own who “deserves” it.

@loveisland mentionable handed out in the same call: @you @keisha @jay just a label + an @-ping ✗ no admin ✗ no ban / kick ✗ no manage ✓ @-mentionable ✓ colour + sidebar ✓ add / remove later
A role Tootsies makes is a harmless group label, mentionable if you want, with none of Discord’s moderation powers.

Who can do what

a quick permission map

Most things are open to everyone. A handful of actions, the ones that change or end something, are mod-only. And Tootsies needs one Discord permission to create events at all.

anyone can ask Tootsies to…

  • make a poll
  • read back a poll’s results
  • list polls across the server
  • view upcoming events

mods only

  • end or edit a poll
  • create, edit, or cancel an event
  • start an event early
  • create a role & hand it out
  • add or remove a role

Events need Tootsies to have Discord’s Manage Events permission, and roles need Manage Roles, she’ll tell you clearly if either is missing.

One gotcha with polls

discord polls are immutable once live

Discord doesn’t let anyone edit a live poll, not even the bot that made it. So if you ask Tootsies to change one, she’ll close the old poll and post a fresh copy with your edits baked in. Votes reset. She’ll say so before she does it.

OLD POLL, CLOSED Option A Option B votes: gone fresh copy NEW POLL, LIVE Option A (updated) New Option C fresh · 0 votes so far
Discord polls can’t be edited in-place. Tootsies closes the original and posts a new one, she’ll always let you know votes are resetting.

She’ll source the options

you name the subject, she fills in the real names

You don’t have to know the cast, the lineup, or the nominees. Tell her the subject and she’ll look it up and fill the poll options with actual names, not blank slots for you to type into.

YOU @Tootsies make a poll for the Casa Amor cast, use their real names TOOTSIES LOOKS UP searches Casa Amor cast… ✓  6 names found 🗳  Who was your fave Casa Amor girl? Select one · 24 hours left Coco Tanya Summer + 3 more options she sourced…
You give her the subject. She looks up the real names and wires them straight into the poll options, you don’t type a single one.

She reads the room first

a guild-wide check before she posts anything new

Before creating a poll or scheduling an event, Tootsies scans every readable channel across the server for one that already exists. If she finds a match, she’ll point you to it instead of doubling up.

TOOTSIES scanning… #general, no poll 👓 no match #love-island, found! ✓ existing poll here #polls, no poll 👓 no match Already exists, no dupe she points you to the live poll in #love-island instead nothing found? posts a new one
Before creating anything, she sweeps every readable channel across the server. A duplicate never slips through.

Times land in your timezone

“friday 8pm” means friday 8pm, not midnight utc

Discord stores events in UTC under the hood. Tootsies reads your plain-English time as ET (Eastern Time), the server’s local timezone, so the event lands at the hour you said, not hours off because of a UTC conversion. If you include an explicit offset (“8pm CST”) she respects that instead.

YOU SAY schedule a watch party Friday 8pm in the lounge “Friday 8pm” reads as ET ✓  Friday · 8:00 PM ET Event card shows 8pm, what you meant ×  00:00 UTC the next morning what a naive UTC conversion would give you
“Friday 8pm” lands at Friday 8pm. She reads plain times as ET so a naive UTC drift doesn’t quietly move your event by 4–5 hours.
Just @mention her. “Make a poll for…” or “schedule…” is all it takes. She’ll ask if she needs more detail, and she reads existing polls + events first so she never doubles up.
